One of our physicians is always on call 24 hours a day. If you have an emergency please call the office number day or night. Please limit after hour calls to emergency situations only. Minor problems such as prescription refills, feeding and/or sleeping problems, etc., should be discussed with the phone nurse during regular office hours. It is always best to telephone first before transporting a child to an emergency facility. We only see our patients at Gadsden Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Department.
In any instance of a life-threatening emergency, your first call should be to the paramedics at 911.

SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS
Our office personnel try to schedule patients on an appointment basis at a time most convenient for you. Whenever possible, when you call for an appointment, your stated preference for an individual physician will be met. When special needs arise, please advise us so that we can schedule extended time.
If you need to cancel an appointment, we request that you give at least 24 hours notice. This will help us to meet the needs of our other patients.
Please notify us of any changes in address, phone numbers, insurance coverage or responsible party. This enables our office to provide prompt, accurate service to you.
PRESCRIPTION REFILLS
Most prescription refills, if requested prior to 4 p.m., can be handled on the day requested. Please make sure you know the name of the medicine, the dose, the form (liquid or tablet), the date of the last refill, and the name and number of your pharmacy. A nurse or a physician may call you to discuss the refill if the patient has not been seen for regular checkups or if the prescription needs to be adjusted.
It is in your child’s best interest to be examined by a physician to determine the cause of your child’s symptoms and the appropriate treatment. We do not call in antibiotics without seeing your child first. We only call in prescriptions for maintenance medications for chronic problems.
PHONE CALLS
Our phone nurse is available Monday – Friday to answer baby care questions, medication questions or to help you decide if your child needs to be seen by a physician. For a complicated problem, please schedule an appointment. As we have limited staff on the weekends, please hold all routine calls until the weekdays. The advice we can give on the phone is limited to our established patients only.
HOSPITAL AFFILIATIONS
All of our physicians are on the staff of Gadsden Regional Medical Center. If you are delivering at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, notify the admission team that Gadsden Pediatric Clinic is your pediatric group and they will notify us of your child’s birth. If you are delivering at another hospital, physicians outside of our group will perform your baby’s initial exam. After the newborn is discharged from the hospital, you should call and make a newborn appointment at our office to be seen within one week.
Payment Options
Payment of copayments and deductibles is due at the time services are rendered. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
